This week is going to be a bit overwhelming only because we’ll be moving into a new apartment in one week and not one fraction of our stuff is packed. EEK! You honestly don’t realize how much clothing and random stuff you have until you slowly begin placing it into boxes.
The nice thing about moving besides switching to a new home is that you involuntarily go through all your junk while doing a cleaning you’ve probably been putting off for months now, if not years. You find things you had probably already forgotten about and others you’d been searching forever for.
But even though I will be moving into a better place this apartment will always be special to me because it was my first home since moving to New York. I still have the vivid memory upon my arrival. It was completely empty except for a dining table my roommate had purchased, and now it’s filled with special pieces we managed to attain throughout the year.
Many personal and deep changes have taken place while living in this apartment including the people I now live with (my old roommate moved back home), but it’s always exciting to start fresh in a new place. I am just thankful I’ve managed to make it in the city for over a year now and I’m excited for what’s to come. So CHEERS to a new beginning!
