My Six-Step Daily Skincare Routine
Coming up with a daily skin care routine is no easy feat – especially for a beauty aficionado like myself, who’s one of the first to jump at trying something new. However, there are a few key products I’ve gotten attached to and have had to purchase multiple times. These are the products I’ve found work for my dry skin and are now the fundamentals of my daily skincare routine. Every morning post-shower, it pretty much goes like this: toner, eye cream, serum(s), hyaluronic acid, moisturizer, sunscreen.
Step 1. For years now I’ve been using the Belif Witch Hazel Herbal Extract Toner. It’s my absolute favorite for I notice an immediate burst of hydration. As described on the Sephora website: “This botanical toner is formulated to hydrate dry, dull skin, leaving it even and deeply moisturized after cleansing. It contains a blend of apothecary herbs, including witch hazel, to help clarify and hydrate skin by sealing in moisture. Skin appears supple and revitalized over time.” What’s more, the bottle is 6.75 oz, and a little goes a long way which means it usually lasts me for about a year or so.
Step 2. Eye cream is a total MUST for me. I love the Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado from Kiehl’s. It has somewhat of a tacky texture, but once it touches the skin, it doesn’t feel sticky. I recently ran out though and chose to change things up with the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Cream, which is an anti-aging treatment that claims to “instantly brighten and reduce the appearance of dark circles, puffiness, fine lines, and wrinkles.” So basically everything I want.
Step 3. Next, I discovered the Elisha Coy Moist Up Super Hyalurone Ampoule Serum at a Peach and Lily sample sale and haven’t looked back ever since! Soon after I discovered it’s sold at select CVS stores and it’s only $13!
Step 4: You may have heard of skincare brand, The Ordinary. Well, I’m obsessed with their Hyaluronic Acid 2%. For less than $7, this product does wonders to my skin by adding a separate layer of hydration. I’m coming close to the end of my second bottle and am ready to run out for a third.
Step 5. Moisturizer is the second to last step in my routine, however, I tend to change from time to time. For day use my top favorites have been Belif The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb and the Dr. Jart Ceramidin Cream – both are Korean skincare brands. However, I’ve used Fresh products in the past, and this time I gravitated towards their Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream. It’s only been a few days, but so far, so good!
