How I Dipped into the Biker Shorts Trend
If you’ve been following along then you know I’m all for vintage/thrift shopping which is why I’m always excited to learn about this kind of pop-ups or closet sales.
I’ve talked about becoming more fashion conscious, and in doing so I’m trying to stay away (keyword: TRYING) from the fast fashion lane by instead opting for something gently worn or more sustainable brands.
In my last post I let you in on how I’m trying to get creative with what I already own, and that’s just what I did with this look. By now you’re probably familiar with the biker shorts trend. I have been hesitant about buying a pair only because I’m not sure how long I’ll be amused. Yes, I can always wear them to the gym instead, but I’m afraid of them being too sheer, and besides, it’s starting to get pretty chilly out.
So I did what my tween self would’ve done, and instead, I cut a pair of old Zara leggings I had lying around. I tried cutting them as straight as possible but do take into consideration I’m not a profesh. They’re not perfect, but then again what is? I just really wanted to try it out and see how I’d feel and to be honest, I can see me wearing more of this trend. Especially since seeing everyone’s IG stories of the Maryam Nassir Zadeh Spring ‘19 show– this trend isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. I’m thinking: would it be crazy to wear it with tights and a chic, long coat in the winter?
The checked blazer is a vintage find from the pop-up I went to over the weekend, and the top is also an oldie but a goodie.
What do you think about this trend? Are you here for it?
