With Open Arms
I want to start off by saying: Happy New Year! It’s been a while since I’ve written a post (since last year to be exact), but between prepping for a two-week trip and then actually being away for two weeks, it all kind of got in the way of me sitting down to write. But now that I’m back in my Brooklyn apartment, I want to take a moment to catch up and welcome 2018 with open arms.
For me, last year was bittersweet. So many great things happened, but other not so great things happened too. I, unfortunately, lost two of my grandparents–my maternal grandparents. Their deaths were only a month apart, and though I was lucky to enjoy them for so many years, these things are never easy. Some other personal matters occurred, but let’s not get into that.
On the positive side, JL and I celebrated our first one-year anniversary and we traveled to Croatia for our honeymoon. We both switched careers/jobs for the better, which led to other happy moments–including travel, which hadn’t happened in quite a while. I also blogged more consistently than I ever have before, and I want to duplicate that in 2018.
This year has so many amazing things coming. We already have three trips lined up, I have a few projects I’ve been thinking about and am finally pushing myself to do, and that alone makes me very happy. I'm ready!
