A (short) Color Story
In the fall/winter, I'm usually all about the blacks and the grays. I know it sounds boring, but in my defense, it's a no-fail combo that helps me run out the door—because believe me—it's tough getting out of bed in the winter in New York.
However, for the first fall in a really long time, I've actually been embracing color. I can't stop wearing black and probably never will (as you can see), but I've been finding ways of adding pops of color into my everyday wardrobe—like this cropped kimono jacket. I was instantly drawn to the vibrant green shade and subtle swirly print, and I was induced by its oversized shape and large sleeves. Most importantly I loved it's a statement piece I can wear with jeans, trousers, dresses—or just about anything!
If you're not too convinced about wearing colorful clothes, accessories are also a fun way to add color to your look, and this backpack was just calling my name. I've never had an orange bag before, but it's surprisingly much more versatile than you'd expect. When styling this outfit I was afraid it was going to clash with the green kimono jacket, but I actually really liked how well the two play off each other.
This has definitely made me want to experiment more with color.
