It’s finally here! So many of us had been anxiously awaiting to ring in the new year, and after last year’s depressing series of events it couldn’t have gotten here any sooner. As you may already know, #fuck2016 is the hashtag that’s been going around, and though I can somewhat agree with it for social and personal reasons, I have to admit it wasn’t all that bad for me.
Really, it’s only because of one reason. That being that after an 11-year relationship with my now husband, we finally got married. We got engaged last December and on October 15th we said ‘I do’ surrounded by our closest family and friends. It was an exciting (and stressful) year for us, but in the end it all worked out perfectly.
2017 brings excitement for several reasons. This year we plan on taking our honeymoon–it’s a much needed vacation and neither of us can wait! We’re also planning on visiting Mexico City–one of my favorite places in the world, we'll be celebrating our one-year anniversary, and I’m focusing more of my time towards blogging (hooray!). I’m sure many more exciting things will pop up along the way, but this is enough to get me pretty hyped about the new year.
I waited a while to post this, but the shoot below was one of my favorites from 2016. I worked with friend and jewelry designer, Ale Bremer, and my friend and photographer, Marissa Pina (there's actually more to come on this collab). I loved how she was able to capture the perfect lighting right into the night.
